DVF for Gap Kids and Baby Gap. Oh My…

Yes – you read that correctly. In case you haven’t heard, Diane von Furstenberg has designed her first capsule collection for kids – and they will be hitting the racks and your local Gap Kids and Baby Gap stores on March 15. If there was ever a time I wished I had a little girl – it might be now.

The collection includes the mini versions of the famous DVF wrap dresses, swimwear, shoes and more for babies and girls from infant to 14. Art Peck, president of Gap brand North America, described the collection as von Furstenberg’s, “signature approach to print, optimistic color and femininity, mixed with our expertise in great quality premium children’s clothing at accessible prices.”

The collection promises to be a hit – so mark your calendars and hit the stores early! -LW

New Year, New Baby Clothes. Thank you, Plum.

Harajuku, Baby.

On November 12th, Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Mini line launched and Target and is it ever CUTE!  The line goes from toddler to tween with everything from mini motorcycle jackets to sweet little tutus.

I personally fell in love with the two piece panda tutu set (I mean, it comes with striped leg warmers) and the plaid jumper (again, LEG WARMERS).  For the little guys the little two piece sets with little anime tigers and pandas are adorable.

I was also secretly wishing I was smaller and younger so I could rock some of the plaid or leopard frocks but may have to settle for buying one for my little girl to grow into.  Hurry and get it while it lasts! – Janette Vecchiarelli-Bell

Baby Gucci? Oh My.

I really do love Gucci. Maybe it’s the Italian in me, maybe it’s my love of handbags – I can’t be sure. But it’s been a love affair that I have taken part in for the last decade at least, and one that I have no intention of ending anytime soon. So while I have loved Gucci all this time, it certainly didn’t begin when I was an infant, toddler or even a little girl (thankfully for my parents). But parents of today? You might be in trouble. Why? Well, Gucci has opened their very first luxury children’s boutique, right on 5th Avenue in NYC. Oh boy.

The 1450 square foot boutique is completely devoted to babies and kids. Mom’s without a budget can snatch up baby onesie sets for $180,  kid’s designer denim for $250, wrap dresses for $495 and even a girl’s first Gucci handbag (in backpack form) with leather trim and engraved teddy bear for a mere $825. There are coats and winter accessories galore, which will be perfect for holiday trips this season.

Pink in the Rain

Ah…fall has arrived. And for most of us, that means we are in for some precipitation of the wet and sometimes slushy kind. And that also means that we are in for some new rain boots.
