One of my favorite restaurants in Dallas to take the kids, but still be able to enjoy some sort of a scene, is Patrizio’s. There are several locations in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area, but I am very preferential to the location in Highland Park Village. The restaurant is quite loud, so noisy kids are not a problem. The pasta dishes are great and they have plenty of kid friendly food. You have to take advantage of the upcoming spring weather and enjoy a Bellini on the patio while the kids dig into their pizza. Patrizio’s is particularly great for lunch on a weekend. Main reason being you can leave the kids with Dad at the restaurant and do some damage at the famous shops in ultra high-end Highland Park Village. Enjoy! -AP

A Dallas Oldie but Goodie

Thank goodness for “family” restaurants. You know, those places you wouldn’t normally choose to go unless you actually wanted lots of noise and visual stimulation? Those places are a godsend! And I think that we all thank our lucky stars for those establishments. But equally essential, yet so much harder to find, is a place where you can take your little one that is elegant, sophisticated, beautiful and delectable. They are a delicious find – and we must must share these amazing spots with our fellow fancy mommies. My absolute favorite spot in Southern California is L’Auberge Del Mar.

L'Auberge Del Mar
I take my son here as often as possible – as it is just so easy! We sit outside on the gorgeous deck, where he can entertain himself, look at the ocean, watch the choo-choo trains go by and run around! And the beach is just a few steps away, so my husband and I can alternate little walks down there as well. But if you are the lucky one relaxing – you can indulge in the breathtaking views and scrumptious menu while sipping on your bubbly. Really – it is a wonderful place to dine – breakfast, lunch or dinner – and they have kid’s menus for each. And when you are done, take your little to the beach and playground for hours of fun – just a two minute walk away. Or less if you skip.

Fresh, Flavorful and Fast Food!
Friday, February 18th, 2011CAFE EXPRESS
When in Dallas or Houston, TX, Cafe Express is a must for family dining. They pride themselves on freshness and flavor and there is something on the menu for everyone. Even better, you walk up, order your food then grab a table. No waiting for a waitress, kids can run around (you know what I mean) and it’s nice and open. You’re basically getting fast food (but so much better) in a nice restaurant setting and eating at your pace. You and your kids will love it. Tips: Be sure to let your kids munch on the pre-packaged bread sticks while you wait for that short amount of time for your food to arrive. Also, we love going on Sunday mornings. No one is there so the kids have the place to themselves. It doesn’t matter if the french toast falls on the floor or if there is a little spilled milk! – NS

Eat at Fernandos!
Monday, February 7th, 2011Fernando’s Mexican Cuisine, on the corner of Northwest Highway and Midway Road, is the ultimate family restaurant. The food is good, atmosphere is casual and the noise level is so high that I don’t have to worry about my little girl using her inside voice! It’s one of our favorites in Dallas! – PA
